Hellos and Goodbyes

Guestbook

I spent the month of January at Casa de los Chiqueados and found it superb. My next trip to SMA will be easy to plan. After this trip, I know where I will always stay. From my arrival to my departure, I can not come up with one thing negative. If there had been anything, I am sure Jose, the Property Manager, would have taken care of it as efficiently as he did with everything for my stay. The property has it all - location, ambiance, amenities, and great value. What more can you ask?

The panoramic views, the natural airflow were far beyond what we expected. Everything worked out perfectly! Honestly, this place is a best-kept secret. It was one of the best trips we've taken. There is so much more to do in San Miguel de Allende, that we must come back soon.

Casa de los Chiqueados is a unique place, it's a exquisitely decorated house with few rooms -about six- that has no lobby or reception. When you arrive, the very efficient and really nice manager of the house, José Luis, is waiting for you to give you your set of keys and the guided tour to what becomes from that moment on, your house. The attention is really personal and full of lovely details: chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in the fridge, a full fruit bowl, a bottle of wine, a very useful tip book with phones, addresses, taxi numbers etc. personally written welcome cards by the owner of the house and even homemade cookies for the 4th of July! Rosa, the housekeeper is super discreet -you never know she is there- but keeps the place and your suite, perfect. The roof is a big plus, a lovely place where you can bring your wine and have a nice read, rest, chat, whatever. The laundry room is stocked with very current movies for the blu-ray in your room, and board games, oh and you get WiFi and cable. It's the perfect stay in a lovely city. I'd say A+! Absolutely loved it!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Casa de Los Chiqueados. My journey started in a very positive way when I inquired about a reservation and discovered that Christina (the owner) speaks German fluently.

She helped in making all the travel arrangements for me from Mexico City Airport. After a really long travel day from Frankfurt, Germany, and a delayed flight by several hours I was offered to purchase all of my groceries since I was to arrive so late. What a great idea and they waited for me to get settled in before repaying for this.

In my private residence I found beautiful flowers, a large bowl of assorted fresh fruits, cookies and snacks. There was also a bottle of white wine (I was asked my preferences when I made the reservation) and a handwritten welcome card. Everything had been very clean.

Throughout my two weeks stay I was treated so well by Christina+Gary, Jose Luis the property manager, Rosa the maid and Marco the gardener.

The property is in a great location on a quiet street in the historic center of San Miguel de Allende.

Because of all the personalized attention, if I am already planning my return trip to Casa de Los Chiqueados and bringing some girlfriends with me.

Vielen Dank!

We spent the month of February 2015 in Diamante, the 2 BR, 2 BA penthouse with private roof deck w/ gas barbecue. We loved it and tried to rent it for next year but it's already taken. We know San Miguel well, having visited for 45 years; built two homes; and lived here for 10 years. Now, we spend a few weeks or a month in a rental. We don't need the responsibility of ownership. We like this location! San Miguel is a walking town, and at 6500' elevation, takes some acclimatization when you arrive. However taxis are plentiful (unless it's raining) and inexpensive.

There are six units in Casa de Los Chiqueados, three studio apartments; one, one bedroom, and two, two bedroom units. We have only stayed in one, but have viewed all. The attention to detail by the owner is unsurpassed. Christina has put her heart and soul into this project and it shows in the art and general decor. The kitchen is beautifully equipped with quality pots and pans and sharp knives.

I would not recommend it for children, but for active adults, it's a great choice for a second honeymoon.
