Hellos and Goodbyes

Guestbook

What a wonderful place to stay! Everything was just so easy and wonderful. Upon arrival we were greeted with fresh flowers and a bottle of wine. The apartment was very clean and decorated beautifully. The location is great and easy to get around. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to return too.

We stayed here in August for seven days. The place was unbelievably appointed. We rented the two bedroom Diamante and could not have been happier. The owners live just a half block and were great hosts making us feel like a King & Queen. The kitchen, living space (with 52 inch flat screen and cable), and beds were much like something you would find in a penthouse in NY. The apartment is located in the historic district and walking distance to all amenities. This is not a hotel, it is more of a spacious condominium. I will definitely stay here when we revisit this amazing city.

Just back from a week at Casa de los Chiqueados. My first trip to San Miguel, and while there is much more exploration awaiting me on future trips, I know where I'll be staying.

The suites are beautifully appointed with all the things I love about Mexico...artwork, pottery, stonework, carved woodwork...tasteful and with an eye to comfort. When the hours of exploring are done, there are rooftop decks where one can put one's feet up, have a glass of wine and enjoy the city views. Great for morning coffee too.

The kitchens are not just pretty, they are real kitchens and equipped for real cooking. As someone who likes to cook and entertain, there's no reinventing the wheel here. There's a real refrigerator and a real gourmet range/oven as well as other kitchen equipment that will make your kitchen adventures a great success.

Whether you are coming for a week or months, Casa de los Chiqueados is your home away from home. The staff is impeccable and happy to help. I can't wait to go back.

Casa de los Chiqueados is a unique place, it's a exquisitely decorated house with few rooms -about six- that has no lobby or reception. When you arrive, the very efficient and really nice manager of the house, José Luis, is waiting for you to give you your set of keys and the guided tour to what becomes from that moment on, your house. The attention is really personal and full of lovely details: chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in the fridge, a full fruit bowl, a bottle of wine, a very useful tip book with phones, addresses, taxi numbers etc. personally written welcome cards by the owner of the house and even homemade cookies for the 4th of July! Rosa, the housekeeper is super discreet -you never know she is there- but keeps the place and your suite, perfect. The roof is a big plus, a lovely place where you can bring your wine and have a nice read, rest, chat, whatever. The laundry room is stocked with very current movies for the blu-ray in your room, and board games, oh and you get WiFi and cable. It's the perfect stay in a lovely city. I'd say A+! Absolutely loved it!

Wow! This place is incredible! We've stayed in some pretty nice 5 star resorts. Casa de los Chiqueados surpasses them all in charm, comfort and the service provided by the staff and owners is unequaled to anything we've experienced.

To begin with, the architecture of the casa is stunning with so many small details taken care of. It is really quite impressive as has been noted by several architectural journals and travel writers.

Our unit, Diamante, was marvelous with stunning interior design. It has a private terrace with a grill for cooking. But our favorite part of the day was at sunset. We would prepare our margaritas, put Vivaldi on the c.d. player, listen to the church bells pealing all over the town and watch the sun go down. What drama! We had originally rented Diamante for three months, but had loved it so much that we were able to extend our visit to a fourth month before heading home to Hawaii.

The owners of the property are really just incredible. They go beyond extraordinary measures to care for the guests. We love SMA, Casa de los Chiqueados, the staff, and the total experience provided. Can't wait to return!
